My name is Lee Wellings and I am a global sports specialist from the UK. An author, broadcaster and journalist who’s covered sports for 35+ years. Whether it’s America’s growing influence in soccer, the Middle East’s takeover of sport or what fans really want, I have the insight, contacts and knowledge.

My writing mixes humour with inside information and brutal honesty about sports and the people who run it. From incisive articles to my ‘Football Fables’ that satirize the game. I use sports to explore life and wider society in all my writing.

Modern sports is dominated by owners and broadcasting rights-holders who too often don’t care about fans. There’s a community building who understand the true meaning of sport and we want our game back.
